WORLD OZONE DAY WITH EI NINO AWARENESS INITIATIVE

SSM College of Arts and Science Observes World Ozone Day with El Niño Awareness Initiative.  SSM College of Arts and Science successfully conducted a special World Ozone Day Awareness Programme focusing on Ozone Layer Protection, Climate Change and the El Niño and it’s impact on Environment on 16.09.2026.  The initiative was designed to create awareness among students about the importance of the ozone layer, the causes and impacts of ozone depletion, and the role of climate phenomena such as El Niño in influencing global and regional weather patterns. Students actively participated in awareness activities promoting environmental responsibility, sustainable practices, and climate-conscious behaviour. The programme was Coordinated by Dr.T.Abirami AP/ Commerce and Mrs.S. Vijayalakshmi APJ/Computer Science and Resource person as Mrs.P.Prabha HOD / Bio Chemistry of SSMCAS under the guidance of Dr. L. Mahalakshmi, Principal, SSMCAS, with the active participation of students and faculty members. “Protect the Ozone, Understand Our Climate, Protect Our Future.”
