BUILDING QUALITY SYSTEMS IN HIGHER EDUCATION: IQAC TRAINING

Glimpses of the sensitisation on Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) held at SSM Higher Educational Institutions for Research (SSM HEIR) on 11.10.25.  Dr. K. Hariharan, Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, and coordinator of IQAC of Dr. Mahalingam College of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore, has acted as the resource person for the programme. The resource person highlighted the nuances of various criteria involved in the accreditation process of nationally important bodies like NAAC and NBA. Teaching learning process, Research and consultancy, Extension activities, Feedback analysis mechanism, and best practices were the key areas described by the resource person.  Quality System Manual (QSM) has to be kept to check the activities of the cells/clubs/associations periodically to maintain the quality of the processes taking place in the campus. It is an initiative of Institutions’ Innovation Council to achieve SDGs 4,9 and 16, namely Quality Education, Industry, Innovation, Infrastructure and Peace, Justice, and Strong Institution respectively.
